Iren was absolutely fantastic as a tour guide. It was my first time to New York. I can leave feeling like I saw as much as I could have in my 3 short day stay. Iren made this possible. Highly recommend!
Iren is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about NYC! She changed directions at the drop of a hat when I commented on buildings she had not planned to talk about. She knew all the best views, had perfect timing for breaks, and still had more buildings in mind at the end of 8 hours. She even boarded the subway with us to make sure we could find our way back to our BnB. Highly recommend spending your day with her!

Our tour with Iren was absolutely fantastic! She showed up early to meet us in our hotel lobby and greeted us with such warmth and friendliness that we felt comfortable right away. excellent experience
I spent 1 and a half days with Iren on two separate tours – half day around Hoboken and one day around NYC. Iren was wonderful to spend time with as she was very friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Most of all I enjoyed the flexibility of the tours and her willingness to go the extra step to accommodate my interests. And her choice of stops for lunch or a glass of wine were great, and very welcome. 😊 An excellent experience and highly recommended.

Ms. Iren was great! I can not express enough how appreciated I am. She took us around New York and made the whole experience unforgettable! The knowledge she has and love for New York, made us love it even more! We had two children with us(14 and 6) and they can not stop talking about our time with her and how awesome she was! Ms. Iren took the time to have small meetings in between our tour to make sure everyone was good and made it interesting for our boys! At the end of the tour she felt like family to us! fabulous tour
We had a fabulous tour with Iren, an enthusiastic, charismatic guide whose charm and knowledge never wilted – despite the intense summer heat. After introducing us to the best mozzarella in New York she zigzagged us around Hoboken, mixing the history of the town and its citizens’ many accomplishments (Oreos! Maxwell House! Waffle Cones! Organized Baseball! Maybe the steam engine!) with the history of Hoboken’s own Frank Sinatra. And because it was a hot day she gave us plenty of stops in the shade and air conditioning and offered us multiple chances to grab a cold drink. It was all very enjoyable and I came away thinking Hoboken was well worth the visit.

Iren was awesome! Our family loved how her tour made us feel like true New Yorkers traveling on foot and subway. She has great knowledge and we loved how she pulled in not so famous sites along our route. She provided a ton of history and was great with pointing out photo opportunities. Hi! My name is Iren and I want to welcome to New York City.
I fell in love with New York the moment I first set foot here, and I moved to the area at the very first opportunity. More than 20 years later, I’m still discovering new corners of this city — and I love sharing them with you.
I enjoy showing people the many faces of NYC: from the iconic skyline of soaring skyscrapers to the quiet, out-of-the-way neighborhoods most visitors never see. I tell stories of the people who shaped the city — self-made millionaires, famous writers, visionary architects, and bold, unforgettable women. I’ll take you to major landmarks as well as secret spots and cozy old bars where New York’s history comes alive. And if you’d like a taste of the city’s nightlife, I can show you where jazz still owns the night and where people gather to swing dance — a joyful tradition born right here in Harlem.
I’m a licensed sightseeing guide with more than 15 years of experience. I’ve studied History of Art at Harvard Extension School (Cambridge, MA), at The New School (NYC), and New York Architectural History at Cooper Union (NYC). I’m also a Lindy Hop dancer, a writer, a New York historian — and an overall fun person to explore the city with.
